We'll start with this picture of Andrea taken in front of the Musical Fountain in the city center. It was actually taken in September, but our blogging ineptitude got it whacked somehow.

We had a service project where we painted inside

and outside

of some members' house in a town nearby. It took us a month to learn to say it's name, Hodmezövássarhely.

We had a branch talent show sponsored by the Young Single Adults. I volunteered to sing "Oh, Danny Boy".

I joined three of the other male missionaries in singing the National Anthem. I mean our National Anthem. We had too many tenors, if you can believe that, and so I was relegated to singing the alto part.

Andrea has told you how we decorated for a wedding in the branch house. Here the table is in process of being adorned with the graveside candles she told you about in her email.

I think it turned out looking beautiful and not the least bit funerary.

This is the room in the city hall where the wedding took place.

Here is another view of the branch house before the reception. Notice Andrea's nice paper flowers. Well the YSA's made some of them, but I blew up every single balloon.

Here's a sample of a YSA FHE in our apartment.

I know this is out of order, but those are sure nice balloons! (and flowers!)

We took a trip to Budapest for a senior couples training and get-together. Don't we look grand on the grand staircase of the National Parliament Building.

Yeah, yeah. Not just out of order but in a different country. We're so proud of our missionary in Dallas, Texas. We thought you deserved to get a look at him.

Back to Senior Missionaries. They have much less hair than Elder Nathan Adams. No, they didn't go bald from serving a mission in Hungary. I'll be OK.

This is the exterior of the Parliament Building at night. It is really spectacular.

A group picture of all the seniors serving in Hungary, including the mission president who is in the middle with the blue tie, and his wife in front of him and to his left a little.

Here is another FHE at our place. The activity---baking and decorating sugar cookies for Halloween. Hungarians don't do Halloween really, unless under the influence of missionaries from America.

A final pose. Who do you think is proudest of his cookie?

Some of our wares.

So, now that we got them primed up for Halloween, we took them to Budapest for a YSA Halloween party for all of Hungary!

This is out of order. (sigh) This is our branch Halloween party which comes after the YSA Budapest party but do stop for a moment to view the exceptional Ghost Pinata. Guess who made it. When your mission call is for Member and Leader Support, you never know what you might be asked to do.

And so, back to Budapest. Here is the group picture of YSA's from all over Hungary. We had four attend from Szeged.

And now to the branch Halloween party. I'm the mummy and these are my two wrappers. We didn't win. (sigh)

Two of our YSA's who caught the Halloween spirit.

The missionaries were in charge of decorating. We borrowed a lot of decorations from Budapest. What opportunists.

November first was All Saint's Day. It is a big deal in Hungary, one of their biggest holidays. Everyone spends the day decorating graves and honoring their dead. They even have special candles they sell in all the stores for this occasion!

The crosses in the above two pictures are all from World War One dead.

The more recently dead get a lot more attention. The graveyards are really very impressive and beautiful as they become so well decorated.

Andrea and I took a P-day to a small town a little north of here that has a Hungarian Historical Park. This is me and my pal Árpád. He founded the Hungarian nation in about 896 A.D.

Here's Andrea posing with some of the buildings in the Heritage park.

This picture is here for simple interest. This old boy with thick glasses and no teeth is driving this donkey drawn cart down the street, and I ask you to guess what he is doing. The answer is at the bottom of this post. Don't peek!

Nice sheep with nice horns.

Yes, it's out of order. How do you get lots of popsicle sticks for Andrea's Primary craft idea? You have to eat lots of ice cream bars! The sacrifices that we senior missionaries must make!

So back to the Historical park. We'll send you all a new post in another month!
Answer: That's right. He's texting.
